Finn (John Boyega) has wielded a lightsaber before and he may do so again in “Star Wars: Episode 9.” Responding to a query from a fan online, Boyega appears to have teased his character using a Jedi weapon once more.

The best of Finn is yet to come, according to at least one fan. In a post on Twitter [see below] a fan told Boyega that he hopes the actor will truly shine in the next film. The fan hopes the film will show Finn to be the hero the fans have been waiting for him to become since “The Force Awakens.” He also hoped the character will get to wield a lightsaber again.

“We’ve got you in this one bro! TRUST me!” Boyega wrote in reply. Does the actor’s comment just mean that big things can be expected of him in the next film, or was he responding to the part of the comment that suggests Finn should get a lightsaber?

Although Finn used a lightsaber in “The Force Awakens,” it was an act of desperation. There have been no indications to suggest that the character is a Force sensitive. However, it is up to the director JJ Abrams to decide whether or not there is some hidden power of Finn that will be revealed in the final film.

The lighsaber duel between Finn and a Stormtrooper in “The Force Awakens” quickly became a fan favourite. Will there be another action sequence like that to look forward to in the next film?

Filming is currently ongoing for “Star Wars: Episode 9.” The movie is set to be released on Dec. 20, 2019 in the US. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date of the film in Australia. The cast members of the film include Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) and Daisy Ridley (Rey).
